Mini Excavators

People are always seeking the most effective and efficient way to get things done, which can also be proved by the birth of mini excavators. It is traditionally regarded that the greater its weight is, the more powerful the excavator becomes and thus the better it is. That is why excavators used to appear very big and heavy. However, later on, people find these big ones are inconvenient for moving. And in most cases, a less powerful but much lighter can also get the task done well. As a result, mini excavators come into existence. These machines are so versatile you can do just about any type of construction work with them – from using a hammer to break up concrete to digging holes for landscape work.

What can Mini Excavator do?

The mini excavator, also called the compact excavator, is a user-friendly, versatile machines are becoming an important development tool, particularly in urban areas where tighter quarters demand smaller, lighter equipment.

With many bucket sizes and multiple attachment options, the mini-excavator is an extremely versatile tool. The following are some of their functions:

Attach a hydraulic hammer for demolition and pipe digging work

Dig out a curb or sidewalk without interrupting traffic at a busy intersection

Attach an earth auger followed by a thumb to load brush and sort recyclable material

Use for multiple backyard jobs, including digging up sewage pipes or electrical conduit

Break up concrete for demolition and recycling with a hammer attachment

Dig holes for landscape work — buckets range from 12 to 24 inches

Work inside strip malls to break concrete, set up plumbing and finish the interior without interrupting other businesses

Rehabilitate old buildings – light flotation makes them easy to get into elevators for multiple level demolitions and remodeling

The advantages of Mini excavators

Compared with big ones, mini excavators have many advantages. To begin with, they are very compact. This means that operating in tight spaces is a lot easier than with other models. Also if you only have small jobs to do you can be in and out in no time. These machines are easier to transport from place to place and small enough to fit almost anywhere.

Besides, they feature a quick-coupler attachment for quick exchange of any dipper-mounted attachment and ergonomic controls for easy operation.

In addition, their rubber tracks won’t scrape and grind the surface like steel, nor would they lip while loading the machine for transport.

Last but not least, mini excavators have a 360-degree swing arc that allows other units, such as a dump truck, to be placed wherever necessary – the excavator can spin around to deposit the load where it needs to be.

In a word, the mini excavator can provide immense level of stability and flexibility in the working place, which is exactly what big excavators are in shortage of.

The disadvantages of Mini excavators

The biggest disadvantage of mini excavators is that their application is limited. They can be applied in urban areas to do some small construction project. But in big construction bases, they won’t be of help any more because their housepower is unqualified.

Another disadvantage of mini excavators is that they are not strong and durable and get broken down easily. In some hard conditions, they won’t work at all.

Despite these disadvantages, however, mini excavators are still so versatile a machine that they are indispensable in the modern construction machinery
